What's inside
◈Macro Tape Explorer
This is a super high-level interactive Macro Tape app (no external libraries). It's designed for fast inspection + seasonality testing. SAMPLE Monthly —
Controls
Note: The Explorer uses deterministic sample generation (trend + seasonality) to provide a long lookback for testing. Production Macro Tape values should come from the API below.

◈API & Developer Access
Gold standard: CSV/JSON downloads are good, but a public, documented API endpoint for Macro Tape is the right long-term interface. Below is a public-facing contract stub you can publish now (even before the backend is live).
Endpoints (proposed)
GET /api/macro-tape— returns time series by metric + geoGET /api/macro-tape/latest— latest snapshot (ticker-ready)GET /api/datasets— dataset catalog (ids, cadence, schemas)GET /api/datasets/:id— schema + metadata + freshness
Auth (optional): public read w/ rate limit, or API key via x-api-key for higher limits.
Macro Tape query
GET /api/macro-tape?metric=dom_median&geo=US&freq=month&from=2016-01&to=2025-12 // metric: dom_median | active_yoy | dq90_index | complaints_100k // geo: US | state (CA,TX,...) | cbsa (31080,...) // freq: month (default); quarter optional for pipeline series // from/to: YYYY-MM (or YYYY-Q# for quarterly series)
OpenAPI-style stub (publishable)
openapi: 3.0.3 info: title: LHBUSA Macro Tape API version: "2025-12-20" paths: /api/macro-tape: get: summary: Macro Tape time series parameters: - in: query name: metric required: true schema: { type: string, enum: [dom_median, active_yoy, dq90_index, complaints_100k] } - in: query name: geo required: true schema: { type: string, example: "US" } - in: query name: from schema: { type: string, example: "2016-01" } - in: query name: to schema: { type: string, example: "2025-12" } responses: "200": description: Series content: application/json: schema: type: object properties: metric: { type: string } geo: { type: string } freq: { type: string } unit: { type: string } series: type: array items: type: object properties: period: { type: string, example: "2025-08" } value: { type: number }
Release strategy: publish this stub now, then implement endpoints behind it. Your frontend (ticker + explorer) can switch from sample data → live API without redesign.

◈FAQs
Do you have an API endpoint for Macro Tape data?
Not fully public yet. We've published the API contract stub above so the frontend (ticker + Explorer) can move from sample data to a live endpoint without redesign. If you need early access, contact sales@localhomebuyersusa.com.
Can I test seasonality with these samples?
Yes. The Macro Tape Explorer provides a longer monthly lookback (sample, deterministic) to help test for seasonality and backtests. Production values should come from the API series once live.
How exactly should I attribute LHBUSA?
Include "Local Home Buyers USA" and a link to this page. The "Attribution" block above has a one-click copy button.
Can I share the raw CSV files publicly?
No. Redistribution of raw datasets isn't allowed under the non-commercial license. Publish derived charts/tables with attribution instead.
What are the SHA-256 hashes for?
They verify integrity of the downloadable samples you generate in-browser on this page.
◈Accessibility
We follow semantic HTML, keyboard focus states, sufficient contrast, and ARIA labeling for tables and regions. CSV/JSON downloads include clear header names and units. If you need alternative formats, email sales@localhomebuyersusa.com.
