Implementation note: These accessibility tools use native CSS custom properties and class toggles — not third-party overlay widgets — to avoid interference with screen readers and assistive technologies.

Standards we follow

We work toward alignment with recognized accessibility standards and best practices.

WCAG
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
Target: WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance across key user flows.
ADA
Americans with Disabilities Act
We prioritize inclusive access and practical usability for all users.
Section 508
U.S. Federal Accessibility Standard
We design for compatibility with Section 508 requirements.
Important: Accessibility is a continuous process. Some pages or third-party embeds may not yet meet every guideline. If you encounter an issue, contact us and we will help you complete your task.

What we do to support accessibility

We apply consistent accessibility practices across design, development, and content.

Design and content
  • Use plain-language headings and short paragraphs for scanability.
  • Maintain readable typography, spacing, and predictable layouts.
  • Provide descriptive link text (avoid “click here” patterns).
  • Target sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for body text).
Keyboard and focus
  • Ensure all interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard.
  • Provide visible focus indicators and logical tab order.
  • Support “Skip to content” navigation for screen reader users.
  • Avoid keyboard traps in modals and interactive components.
Screen readers and semantics
  • Use semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, main, footer).
  • Provide labels for form fields and meaningful ARIA attributes where needed.
  • Avoid conveying meaning by color alone.
  • Include alt text for informative images; mark decorative images appropriately.
Motion, contrast, and readability
  • Respect prefers-reduced-motion and provide a manual toggle.
  • Target WCAG AA contrast ratios for text and interactive elements.
  • Support browser zoom up to 200% without horizontal scrolling.
  • Test layouts across screen sizes and orientations.
Testing and continuous improvement
  • Run periodic automated audits (e.g., Lighthouse, axe) on high-traffic pages.
  • Conduct manual keyboard and screen reader testing.
  • Prioritize fixes that affect essential tasks (forms, navigation, contact).
  • Track user feedback and resolve recurring barriers.

Known limitations

We work to remove barriers as quickly as possible. Some accessibility gaps may exist in these areas:

Third-party content
Some embedded tools or media (maps, video players, external widgets) may have accessibility constraints outside our direct control. If you need an alternative method, contact us with what you're trying to accomplish — we will provide a workaround.
Legacy pages
Older pages may not yet meet our current standards for headings, labels, or focus styling. We prioritize updates based on traffic and user impact. Report specific pages if you encounter issues.

Report an accessibility issue

If something isn't working for you, we want to fix it. Describe the problem and what you were trying to do.

Include: page URL, device, browser, and whether you use a screen reader or keyboard-only navigation.
